octy 4x4 with TT gearbox conversion

Recommended Posts

hello all first post and new user

im looking at buying an octy 4x4 and getting it to around 350hp i have all this worked out nearly, exept one little problem.

i want to fix an 02m 6spd audi TT gearbox, and wonder does anyone know what is involved in fitting one and what clutch and flywheel would be needed for this conversion.

i did see that a user on here with a 400hp 4x4 octy had done the same but have not had a response as of yet, any help on this would be very welcome

Sorry thinking of the tdi which was 6 speed.

You will need a good few parts to change the box over. It's easier to find a octavia/golf/leon fwd cat c and buy that as you will need starter, drive shafts, gearlinkage etc...

if i buy a fwd write off then that defeats the point of wanting a 4wd as its the wrong box, or have i missed something.

what internals and turbo are you going for ????

scat rods and forged pistons, arp bolts everywhere and jbs are dealing with sourcing a turbo and exhaust manifold, all will be done at home on a drive and then back up to them for mapping.

Now I could be wrong here so please forgive but I don't think the 02M 4x4 6 speed box from say a TT will fit the Octy 4x4. Something to do with prop alignment from the transfer box to the Haldex. I think EddyH's 4x4 had something made up for it to work.

Ive done it myself.

Front half of the TT prop fits directly to the original Octavia one, job done.

Just need

Gearbox (with tx box)

Front half of prop

Driveshafts

Moutings

Shifter and cables

Starter motor

Flywheel

Clutch

Clutch pipe (with fluid damper)

Bolts for bell housing and starter motor

That would be me (now)

Sorry didnt see any PM or other contact from you so havent replied. I doubt I can be much help to you anyway. Looks like you already have the info you need from Ross (Lummox/unit 18).

Mine has the tt 6 speed box, spec stage 3+ clutch and spec flywheel. Also has the Haldex HPP 4WD controller.

I didnt do the conversion so I cant actually comment on how hard it was to do. Eddy H commissioned most of the work to the car and JBS auto designes did the engine and gearbox mods. I know they offer it as a service so maybe you can buy the parts in kit format from them. You would need to give them a call.
