Good Afternoon All,

Wasnt sure where to place this post, so just wacked it in here.

Come October, I will be looking to buy a Fabia Vrs :D :D

Now i have a budget of around £6000, can anyone give me a rough idea of what this will get me?

Thanks in advance!;)

A very, very tidy 05, 55 or 06 plate I reckon. with about 55,000 miles :)

If you like the yellow ones, my car!

Not 100% keen on the yellow ones.

but i wont dismiss the offer!

My Fabia is an 06, with 57K on, and when I finally get my company car in September (Bluemotion Golf :rotz:) I will be selling at about £6250, so thats in line with what Yegnold has said.

Hopefully I should be a freedom member now, so will advertise it in here when its up for sale.

Cheers.

RBW.

Would you be put off by a modified one ?

Mr Grumpys is for sale for less than 6k. (and slightly modded)

Check for sale section. ;)

too modified unfortunatly,

Id probobly steer away from a remapped Vrs, so i can get it done myself at some point next year,

Cheers for the heads up though!

Why?

If you want a properly modified car, for the price of a standard one, save yourself at least 5K ( I say at least, knowing full well how much has been spent on mine, which is a scary amount)

If i was going to buy your one, and do things "properly" with insurance im sure they would just laugh at me. :(

I think you'd be surprised, try it out, nothing to lose.

In that case get a quote anyway....worth a laugh ! :D

Didn't realise you were only 18. :thumbdwn:

Plenty of nice standard cars around mate and this should get you a nice 05 55 plate car that has been well looked after. You are not having mine though! Sounds bad on a Skoda forum but a SEAT Ibiza FR has the same engine and platform.

just tried,

i got told where to go! haha!

To be honest half your budget is going to go on insurance. Try a group 1 or 2 car rather than a group 9 unless you really want to waste your money, until you are at least 21

my 1.4 mpi cost me £1800 to get insured on last october,

to renew it will cost £1000

to get insured on a vrs will cost £1500,

im happy to pay the extra 500 for a car that i would really like!

The joys of being young.

Luckily the job pays enough to save up for these things!;)

What about getting a 100pd as a compromise and putting your own mark on it. Still a pretty swift little car.

I pay rent for living with mummy and daddy!:)

and its a 3 figure rent.

I haven't yet achieved getting an RS (wouldn't mind an Octavia) putting it down to the fact that I don't want to be paying stupid money on insurance. Im sticking with a 1.6 for the next year or so until I am over 25. I would hang on for a bit until the insurance drops as unfortunately its very expensive for young drivers. I used to pay well over a £1000 for my Favorit third party fire and theft!
