Q For Vrs Owners

Featured Replies

My other half just got a new Golf TDI (PD130) and at night the dash lights are really wicked, all blue and red. Plz tell me the Tavia vrs is equally cool and not some naff light green.

Also when you open the doors with the remote one press opens the drivers door only, two presses open them all, is the Tavia the same cos it's really handy esp for security in cities.

Ta :)

The Octavia remote locking as standard always opens all doors with a single push on the key fob. The manual does state, however, that this behaviour can be changed by your local friendly Skoda dealer to be one push to open driver's door, second push to open remainder.

Much like my old Mondeo.....

Cheers,

Howard

And you can request the central locking to autolock at speeds over 7mph......

VW only come with blue , Skoda's green....

Linlithgow.. used to work and get drunk there at the Four Mary's !!! Another pint of HEAVY!!!!

i wanted blue lights!

A bit like father-in-law's Cherokee which, IIRC, locked the doors when you put it into gear. The noise sounded a bit like banks of cell doors closing simultaneously (as experienced watching films not doing time) and made it a bit difficult to pop out of the car and scrape the windscreen while the car was idling slowly down the drive in 1st gear... :D

If you want blue dials then you can pay

Not only 3K more, but a smaller car to boot!!

Ecklad, my local is the Black Bitch :) Not as offensive as it first appears !

Shame 'bout the dials but lets face it that's not going to stop me buying one.

Will probably get the remote locking changed though - got that in the Focus and it's v. handy !

Denis,

You're slowly losing it. (Your mind and your car.)

I used to own a Polo, and that had blue lighting. Now I've had chance to get used to the green, I like it. The blue's nicer, but there's nothing wrong with the green - it's certainly not as hideous as the red you get in a lot of cars.

Is the autolock a DIY job or dealer only

i assume you need a vag1552 to enable the anti hijacking c/l...i've just had mine done at my local dealers and its very reassuring!?!.

Be aware of the following.

1. It takes abit to get used to all the doors locking (its loud!!).

2. To open say a passenger door from the inside, requires 2 pulls of the handle, the first to release c/l the second to open.

3. As soon as you remove the key from the ignition, all doors are unlocked.

4. you cant open the boot (estate) mid journey with the engine running (you've got to remove the key)

er it cost

I got myself a headunit that's blue and red, so at night the dash is a Christmas tree!

I can't believe some of you have actually had to REQUEST the 2 push central locking, and the Anti-Hijacking C/L options. My vRS came with them already set up.

The salesman from Derek Slack's (Mark) actually asked if i wanted the Autolocking turned off, as a previous customer had complained that he "didn't like the noise"

These are 2 very handy security features which should be turned on by default, IMHO :)
