lets help damo

Featured Replies

ok , the lads got a problem , we have a duty to help fellow members , so , choose a car that will help him .

needs really to be impossible to finish or improve , no matter how much effort is inputted .kind of the motoring equivelent of painting the forth bridge.

my vote goes i think to a brown allegro maybe a vdp so its got a nice interior to clean , but brown so its awful but shiny .

sensible suggestions please its urgent

One of the German tuning magazines has a Bentley on the front cover that's been modded to look like a Veyron, I doubt there's much more that could be done to that.....

Good call Pete, with the Vanden Plas spec' Allegro (there was one at a recent Doncaster Classic show) so the owner can't be too far from Sheffield.

A diesel Mondeo.

A diesel Mondeo.

hmm maybe not tom , he could cheat and buy an st which is imo a good car .

it needs to be a lost cause , even before he starts.

was thinking clove brown metro but the A series is pretty tuneable and that would be a sleeper.

maybe a beige maxi or a princess

nope no good sim , theres an actual possibility of improving those , it needs to be a total waste of time to keep him interested and never get to the point of finishing , souless mind numbing sorta thing, a none car car.

An Astra fits the bill I think.

oh good call , or maybe the 1 with the boot , a belmont but only 1300cc and a crap colour

Anyone searched ebay yet for a Moskvich or Yugo ?

Pmsl at this thread guys

A bit back I did go all serious and buy a Zafira for the family...

But 3 months later it had big alloys, bodykit and twin exit custom exhaust lol

I do genuinely need a car I don't need/want to spend on.

That's why I am torn with selling the vRS, can I keep it, but don't mod it anymore ???

I can see what's probably going to happen though...

Stage 1...Stage 2...Stage 2+...Stage 3

I'm very nearly a lost cause I guess :(

That's just cruel Nick, he'll get Astracized if he turned up (a week early ) at the Snipe in that! :D

He'd be like the SAS, though Sim - he could drive in and out of the car park without anyone noticing :)

triumph acclaim in beige , thats got no soul at all , its not bad enough to be a talking point like a yugo or a mosky, it wont need fixing , crap colour so wont need a polish, cant tune em , get wheels or stuff i dont think.

kinda thing you get to where you need to be, but not even sure you did actually drive there.

Right, so what about something like an 80's Leyland Princess, in sh***y brown?

Gotta be with a black vinyl roof & maybe an orange interior? ;)

...am I getting warmer?

yeah much better, no black roof tho , thats an upgrade, how about a datsun 120 y or a sunny:rofl:

My A4 ;)

just figured out whats up with damo, he's got OCCDD, obsessive compulsive car disposal disorder.

can it be fixed ?, bet michelle can lol.

How about one of these:

The Volvo 340 - "A car only it's mother could love"

It's a state of mind, as any car can be 'adjusted'/modded/'improved' on (even when the changes, in some cases, can actually make it worse!)

So anything from the 340 above to a Ferrari/ can have extra money and bits lavished on it by their owner :)

Whether the owner wishes to do that is another matter entirely and a different kettle of fish!

Mod the driver, not the car - that's what I say :D

nah steve , you cant improve an allegro thats the point , he can try but never ever succeed, a 120y will always be crap and as for an acclaim never, this is what he needs , will be good for him.

its unfinishable motoring , he cant possibly get bored

No matter which car Damo goes for he won't stay satisfied or the car won't stay standard & he knows he can't kid himself:D.

:iagree: ...in such a way as Brimmer has had done to one of his rabbits!

oi stop being frivolous , this is very important work , helping the guy in his hours and hours of need.

we need someone who knows about OCCDD and can offer support and stuff, god forbid he is made worse by this

A better idea would be to keep damo away from his money

ah but allegro and such like are proof against all efforts to change them or make them in the least bit good .

he can play around loads and cant achieve anything at all , no improvements are possible , you can change anything but there still bloody awful, its perpetual

Lada Riva estate, in Beige with the Bakelite steering wheel :D

Probably so, but how long before he gets bored & wants something else.

Its a good job for his SWMBO that he isn't the same with women:rofl:
