Maxidot Menus

Featured Replies

Just wondering are all maxidots the same?

Do they all have the same menus?

Here's the menu system on my 2006 VRS

<>MF Display (Goes to main display, time, l/100km, distance left in tank etc.)

<>Audio (displays radio station etc.)

<>Vehicle Status (when pressed get "No Entry" displayed??)

<>Setup

----> Time ----> Hours/Minutes/24h12h/Summer Time/Back

----> Winter Tyres ----> On/Off/-10mph/+10mph/Back

----> Language (Languages obviously)

----> Units (Temp units, distance units)

----> Lights&Vision ---->Coming Home/Leaving Home/Comfort Indic/Factory Settings/Back

----> Back

<>Display Off

Whats the "Comfort Indicator -> On/Off"?

Anyone else have any extra menus?

comfort indicators is to change between the indicator flashing 3 times when stalk is pressed or just as normal cars flash once. My vrs has the same options as yours but my old gti's had a convenience option with door locks etc that the skoda doesn't

Some additional menus are available only if you have the applicable feature.

e.g. If you've got factory fitted Sat Nav, you can get the compass display and the name of the street your on. You also get arrows / roundabound diagrams showing the next turn in Navigation mode.

If you have the factory fit bluetooth kit, the Maxidot also allows you to look up your phones contact list to make calls (compatible handsets only).

These additional menus can be turned on / off using the Vag Com whatsit.

The bit under "Vehicle Status" changes if your washer fluid or fuel levels are low....a bit of a pointless menu really, but it possibly tells you other status warnings that aren't displayed elsewhere - never seen any though.

Ive got a phone option in there also. Vehicle Status should only be displayed if car is low on fuel or need's a service etc. Cars with MFD 3 also get some kinda nav option I think...

Could be wrong here, but I'm sure I read that the 2007MY models had extra options in the maxi dot menu as opposed to the MY2006 models like mine - door locks being one of them.

The later models have that feature, my 2008 has the door lock option. I also have the option to turn alarm beep on and off and an option for rain closing too.

WICBA, I'll post up my list from an 07 car.

i also have a menu called Assistant , and inside this menu i can enable or disable "cornering "

i dont know what is meant by cornering ??????? :((((

i thought this is the cornering function of the fog lights but enabling or disabling it has no function on fog lights

any one knows what is this function

Mohamed, as I posted earlier this item has no function until it's been enabled in vagcom. Once enabled in vagcom, you can then turn this on and off via maxidot.

Also remember that this feature may not be part of your car's spec for your region, and/or it may not even be legal to use it in your country.

With regards to your dealer network, I would contact Skoda and complain at the way you are being treated by them refusing work on your car.

thanks alot gadgetman

i am trying to get an engineer with vag-com to code me the oem bluetooth i added , i will ask him to enable me the fog corner function too

i hope he can

thanks again gadgetman

the engineer with the vag-com failed to enable the corner function of the fog light :((((

he coded the bluetooth perfectly but for the fog light he doesn't know what to do to enable it ((

if anyone knows how to code it please tell me

thanks in advance

Are you sure you're not confusing the fancy cornering adaptive headlights (probably not fitted to your car unless you opted for that option) with the daytime running lights.

The extra bulbs in the fog light housings are are for the latter, to my knowledge these have nothing to do with cornering.

Sorry if i've misunderstood your enquiry, but I think the cornering function is unrelated to foglights.

here is what is in the car manual , i am really confused between both of them

Cornering lights*

The cornering lights are used to illuminate the curves by means of the cone of light

swiveling together with the front headlight with Xenon lights*.

Fog lights with the function “Corner”*

The fog lights with the function “Corner” improve the illumination of

areas close to the vehicle when turning, parking etc.

The fog lights with the function “Corner” are regulated according to the steering

angle or after switching on the turn signal light8) in the following circumstances:

• the vehicle is stationary and the engine is running or it moves with a speed of

maximum 40 km/h;

• the daylight driving lights are not switched on;

• the low beam is switched on or the light switch is in the position  and the

intensity of the ambient light causes the low beam to be switched on;

• the fog lights are not switched on;

• no reverse gear is engaged.

i have in the maxidot a menu called assitant , where i can enable and disable corner function " which one i dont know " but am sure not the fog as i checked it

Mohamed is correct Mr Hugo. The DRLs corner at speeds below 25Mph if they are enabled. At speeds above the adaptive cornering headlights take over the job.

Even if you don't have these headlights, if you have a certain type of foglights and Control Box with 30 Bytes, as opposed to the slightly older one of 23 Bytes, you are able to activate them with a VAG-COM.

Space between both paragraphs

Mohamed, you may have luck in the vagcom section of this forum. For the FL your engineer must have the most recent version of vagcom to have access to the options.

The people in the forum can then help you with the coding for this.

Sorry.

That was about as helpful and well informed as a Skoda UK customer services representative.

Surprising to me that both headlights and fog lights have corner function though, seems a little unnecessary, but if you can enable it, then why not I guess.

the coding doesnt work on all cars its all to do with the ecu or something thats in the car, vrstu did explain this one last year.
