Here are images of how it looks when connecting Blackberry Bold 9000, as you can see its connected as I have signal. I can also dial from the touchpad but doesnt show presets or phonebooks. Yet on the MFD instrument cluster I have access to phonebooks, recent call lists etc.

Hi, did you manage to sort this out?

I have finally got my unit working again with new firmware but my Blackberry is doing the same as yours. The Address Book through Maxidot is fine, but nothing through RNS510, and no speed dial options...

Good to hear! How long was it away for, how much did it cost, did they tell you why it failed, can it be upgraded in future?

Thanks, but a long story... In short it would seem that the mainboard was tampered with in such a way that it was not possible to upgrade the fw or re-flash it. In the end the infamous Martin/Marcin in Poland had to get hold of a new mainboard and installed it and set the unit all up. Future upgrades should not be an issue as the new mainboard is untouched.

It ended up costing me 200 euros. :( The lesson has been learnt!

There's been a lot of threads related to phone/menus not showing properly. Atty posted this the other day, if it's relevant?

Yes, now that I have done a few more searches it seems to be a common problem. I will look into the coding change suggested in the thread above next week.

Mine will be going off to Poland after all now Marcin can get hold of mainboards. Just need to get around to it.

Does anybody know if this update changes the unit from an Octavia Unit Coding to a Superb Unit Coding?

Does 1Z0 change to 3T0??

Sorry Nick - I know it's old, but then so am I :o

Mine did

ffs :) - I've got to go down to cov again next week but I'm working from home all week the week after so I'll send it off then.

Took you a few days there Brimmer?! I half expected your round tuit to appear within seconds of Nicks post! :D

I didn't want to get beaten up at the meet on Tuesday :rotz:

Ok - so looks like I need to run the 2664 upgrage to change my 1Z0 unit to a 3T0 unit, which will hopefully enable the Navi in Maxidot.

Before I take the plunge - Am I right in saying that the battery drain problem is only happening on pre-facelift cars?

Well - do I take the plunge????????

:chicken:

Fingers crossed for ya

You're either in the club or you're not..... ;)

Well - went for it this afternoon - Success!!

Everything seems fine.

I had to reprogramme my six phone book favourites, and reset the unit a couple of times to get it to work out where it was in the world.

Navi is now working in Maxidot, as well as Audio :D

I had to walk away and get the lawnmower out whilst it was installing, too much stress!!

Great news!

:huep:

The secret menu is not working now, but that does not really worry me

Clicky clicky with VCDS & it soon will be... or you could always reflash it after applying the table files mod! ...come here & do it? I'll get our lawnmower out for you! :D

Glad to hear you're finally sorted! :)

Thats enough updating/modifying/upgrading the Colombus for one day.......:Yikes:

Anyone bought a 3to unit for a pre-fl octy and upgraded ok in the octy?

Anybody had the problem of the Colombus losing its memory regarding location?

Got in the car this morning, map was in the correct location. Spot on

Drove to work, parked till lunchtime.

Got in the car to get some lunch, and the map was showing I was in Germany.

After a couple of minutes, it corrected to the right location.

Got in the car tonight, same thing, thought it was in Germany.

Any ideas anybody?

It is called the "Regensburg syndrome" in Germany. Because the unit starts somewhere near the Messerschmidtstrasse in Regensburg if the unit (the GPS antenna) makes a cold start.

Takes a little while and than the GPS will pick up the right signal. Most disturbing is it when you start out of a garage, than it will take a bit longer.

Mine's never done the Regensburg thing on 2664.

WIN!!!

Left mine parked in an open air carpark for 4 hours, on return it was in Germany. Stayed in Germany for the 40min journey down the motorway home, and only returned to the UK after a reboot!
It thought you were somewhere round about here:

It's probably just a default location until it's stored enough satellite data - Mine did it, Brimma's did it... & I guess everyone else's too?!

Cuppla days & it'll be right as rain...

Mine is still doing it, wonder if it will ever change?

 Umm... try a reboot (< >i buttons) then give it another cuppla days?

How long does it take to get a fix when you set off driving? Wonder if it'd be worthwhile parking up somewhere with open/clear skies with the ignition on, Columbus on & reading a paper for an hour?!

It only takes around 2 minutes to sort itself out, so it is not really much of a problem, just strange why it does it!
