FL VRs Leather Option

Featured Replies

Ive been looking at the new Octavia, and considering the full leather seat option, although I have one problem!

Ive been to two dealers, and one (Rainworth) has said the leather option is similar to that in the Fabia VRs, which were a hard/shiny leather. The second dealer (Gordon Lamb) have told me they are a soft leather, like those in the Superb, but with a Recaro fitting?

Can anyone confirm which type they are, pics of them actually in someones car would be excellent! Only I dont want to spend the extra money and end up with hard/shing, cheap looking leather seats!

As a side note, Ive now been to three dealers and the difference in price is £1100, quite a lot really!

Thanks for the link, they are better pictures, at least you can see what you get for your money.

Although the picture has created one more question in my mind...............does the FL come with blue lit dials, as they look like that in the pic!

Those seats in link are part leather the VRs FL option is for full leather.

My FL with full leather due for delivery in 3 weeks!

Will post pics then

No, those are the specced leather seats. The part leather option features the traditional white sections.

Thats interesting they do look like Blue lit dials but I'm sure it's been discussed elsewhere on the forum that the FL dial lighting is white.

might just be a filter on the camera as the seats are black but lighter in that colour and the sat nav screen has a bit of a blue tint to it as well

I have specced full leather but have spoken with the dealer today and still have time to change my mind.

I am probably going to revert back to normal trim as for £800 I don't recon the leather is going to be the best quality. It looks a bit 'shiney' in the pictures and I think will make the cabin quite dark. Dealer also was honest with me and did not think it was worth the extra and would not increase the value come resale time. Up to you.....not 100% convinced. Dealer has said I can get interior and exterior treated with diamondbrite or something like that for £135....any thoughts?

Cheers guys.

I emailed the factory about the leather used in the VRS. The centre parts are nappa and the sides vachette. From the information they gave me it's the same leather (the nappa bits) as used in the new Superb. Having seen the leather in the Superb I was happy to order my VRS with leather.

Seems like everyone is going for the leather option, might stick with the standard seats, just to be the different one! haha

Just wish I could see what the leather is actually like before deciding to order or not!

The only reason I went for black leather is having 3 kids the light section on the standard seats would be grubby after a couple of journeys!!

Don't bother with DiamondBrite. Dealer supplied it's absurdly expensive, and it doesn't do what they say it will. I put DiamondBrite on my Fabia (there are pictures somewhere on here if you do a search) and while it looked alright, it wasn't as good as a decent wax. The DB kit cost me 30 quid off ebay and was the exact same kit they'd use at a dealership.

Mine should hopefully be at the dealers tomorrow! Will have to see how long they need to get it on the road.

Went to the dealer today to see my car prior to it being registered and put on the road. The issue was that it was not ordered with leather seats :thumbdwn: so no pictures. Dealer said that they would sort this by swapping the seats from another car.

Checked around the rest of the car and it didn't seem to have any of the other options.

The main problem when I checked was that it was a petrol rather than the diesel that I had ordered

I'm now stuck with waiting for the next available car ...

how did they manage to make such a **** up of your order :confused:

Are they taking the pi55? How could they possibly get it so wrong?

WoW!! Have they had the wrong car delivered (its gone to a differnet dealer)? that doesn't give you much faith in them, NAME and SHAME!!!

Perhaps I should have started another thread on this one ...

I was always concerned about the lack of paperwark from the dealer but was assured that it was all ok.

Went to check the car out and raised the concern that it wasn't my car. I was assured that it was, and proceded to check the other options off. It had no spare wheel, and when I switched on the ignition to check for the Maxidot, that is when I spotted the redline.

The sales guy was genuinely surprised at this, but when we checked the order it was for a petrol!

The only thing right was the colour!

Had a look on the Skoda system and managed to allocate a car available with the spec that I want with a build week of 41, meaning that I should get it by the end of October.

I seem to have little option but to wait for this car, and I have been offered a level of compensation by the dealer.

But the wait is so damm frustrating

I have to confirm that I wish to proceed with the deal tomorrow, so I will wait to see what they finally come up with.

Does anyone want a petrol vRS in Race Blue, as they currently do not have a customer for it!

What an ar5e of a dealer......I hope it's not the same one I have ordered from. I'm sure when the right car does arrive it will be a cracker tho

Mine left Germany on 28th August and it's still not showing on the dealers system
