Oily pipe

Featured Replies

Was under the car on Sunday fixing my belly panel after grounding out and popping the three back clips off it

Whilst under their i found an inspection hole which is open, upon looking through said hole i was greeted to this sight

Now is this supposed to be covered in oil?

Hello Juego,

Can't say where-abouts this hole is located ?? have you got a wider angle photo of it's location please.??

I think that's one of your intercooler pipes and the cut out is so you can pop the clip off without removing the cover. I'd expect a bit of oil, wipe it clean and monitor it

The joint relaxes and allows traces of oil to pass when not under boost, perfectly normal.

Nice one! Saved me worrying i've damaged something when i accidentally caught some air over a back road i didn't know

Check my post here - looks like the same pipe... Thing is, I am of the opinion that oil like that must not happen on a 2 yo car with 30000 kms on the clock....
