Hi all, just found this site after doing some Googling to search for details on a possible purchase of a new car (well new to US anyway).

Looking at a 2006 VRS Estate, lovely drive, wife likes it, kids like it, I like it, so am looking for things to put me off of it before I get toooo carried away.

So, family of 4, who love their camping trips, and have out grown an Astra hatch, 6K avg miles per annum, (it will be the wifes car, I drive a van on a daily basis), what do you reckon, good buy or not.

We are looking at the 2.0 VRS Petrol model, looking at petrols as we only do 6K per annum average.

Hello , my brother has biught kodiak with matrix led lights. One of the problem is that high beam don't light up automatically and there is option to enable it on the menu. I have read somewere that someone had the same problem , but in tme meatime recieved an ota update and the function appeard . I have an obd11 but can't connect the car because of rhe newer protection so I was wondering how I could enable it. Another thing is if it would be possible to enable the inner rear stop lights. First time starting a project thread, bear with me... Heard about this Roomster not too far from me that might be heading for a scrapyard, and decided to try to acquire it. Local dealership said it would cost £300 to upgrade my maps and suggested that there are better options them then for this! After lots of online research I decided to update the firmware from H4120 to 5274. I have the zipped file RNS_510_FW_5274_update.iso and have burned this to a DVD at lowest speed. When I put the DVD in the unit (no keys in iginition) it whirs around and then after 20-30 seconds comes back with a CD/DVD error. The unit will play a normal music

For the past few weeks my Skoda Scala Infotainment unit has been prompting me to do updates. Almost everyday I get the prompt to do an update. I only get the one prompt in a day. I believe the procedure is to park, accept the update, turn off the ignition, exit the car and lock it. I think some updates only apply when you next start the car.
