vrs tfsi oil usage?

Featured Replies

had my car for a couple of months now and ive had to top the oil up with 1 litre, i know when you read the manual it quotes up to 1litre per 1000 miles.

its an 06 with 45k on the clock, im not overly concerned about how much it has used but im just wondering what other peoples car use.

Mine used about half a litre in eight thousand miles.:D

Mine guzzles the stuff.

Mine uses oil pretty quickly. Over the last 12000 miles, I've put 2 litres in.

Interesting. Mine doesn't seem to much at all - dipstick level not moved over the last 4k miles.

My tfsi is also a bit thirsty with the oil. I brought the same thing up in another thread a few months ago and the message appeared to be: many tfsi's use a lot, some use very little but don't worry about it, just check the level regularly.

From what I remember reading on here somewhere, it might be down to how the car was run in from new.

My 07 tfsi with just over 23k on the clock has used about 2.5 litres in last 6 months/6k miles - so about what your's is using.

Just check your oil regularly. I always keep a litre in the boot so I can top up immediately if needed when I've remembered to check mine.

:D Mine seems to use petrol and oil in equal quantities ;)

Its not too bad - have probably put a couple of litres in in one year/12,000 miles. Its due a service and an oil change soon though

Mines an oilaholic, it goes from full to min in 2700 miles.
