Photography nightschool bring it on! FAO Fluff, Lady E and Loz

Flickr's probably your best bet, and you can link it straight away if you have a Yahoo Mail account - even a really old one! (as I found out :))

Might also help you build a bit of a portfolio on there...

Thought I might give Delamere a try as that's probably easiest/most accessible for me. Not sure when, although I might be able to fit it in on Sunday, especially if the weather's decent.

I'd be up for a trip to Delamere if you want a co-driver?

Seem to remember I have a photobucket account:rolleyes: Might have to investigate that!

I'll give you a shot then Huw, when I know how the weekend's shaping up

A shot, sounds painful! :o

Steve, I have resurrected my account on HP's Snapfish and have put all the Nightschool pics on there - seems a very fast site, so far so good.

Let me know what you think of the pics and also how easy/difficult it was to see them on Snapfish.:D

Snapfish not so good for what I want!

Good stuff, I'm always partial to night time photos :D

A few observations, if I may:

Good on ya doing everything manually  However, I'd keep the ISO really really low. It's bumped up quite high to a point you start introducing noise, and more importantly, you're losing on dynamic range.

Whilst it's good to stop the aperture down a bit, it doesn't need to be as much as f/32! f/11 to f/16 should give you enough depth of field (particularly at 22mm), and you won't have diffraction coming into effect having a negative impact on the quality.

Also, whilst turning your ISO down would mean longer exposures, opening up the aperture will reduce them so you may find that your overall exposure doesn't change that much.

Another tip or cheat I use: it can be a pain waiting 30 secs to see how the photo turns out. If you want a quick check on the metering front, whack the ISO up and open up the lens as much as possible. It won't give you a good picture, but you can then see what the metering reports and chances are it'll only be 1 or 2 second shots, so easy to adjust the metering until you're happy, then take the ISO all the way back down, stop the aperture down to f/11 or similar and adjust shutter speed so you get the correct metering.

Keep at it, some of those shots look really cool
