New Superb damaged in delivery!

Featured Replies

Well I was supposed to be recieving my new superb elegance next week, sadly I had a call today to say my car had been damaged beyond repair during transit! At the time, they were not sure what had happenend to it but later they called me to explain. Turns out some little low life took a crow bar to it whilst the truck driver was in the services. He wasn't the most delicate of thieves and did lots of damage it would seem, both to the exterior and the interior as he hacked the car to bits trying to get his hands on my columbus nav!

Well the end result is, as that car hasn't even been registered, it's been sent back to be checked. Looks like it's either gonna be scrapped or if repairable will be sent out as a skoda management car!!

So now I have to wait a couple more weeks for another to be shipped over! :(

That's shocking, really feel sorry for you mate. Some of the scroats out there need a piece of lead behind the ear. :rotz:

It's good it hasn't been hurridly patched up and that they are going to build you another, personally I think the story is BS myself, two probables, one it's not left the factory yet and they are playing for extra time, and two it's had a shunt or fell off the transporter, I worked for a VW dealer and a Renault dealer when I was a kid, in my time I managed to write off a Fuego and backed an LT van into the compound wall as I misjudged the length of it parking it, so these things do happen, when it arrives I'd give it a real good looking at before accepting it, check for overspray underneath it and panel alignment

You will be suprised how many cars are damaged during delivery, it is actually quiet common. There are an awfull lot of cars (all makes) driving around out there that have been damaged pre-delivery and the owner unaware. The columbus is fast becoming a theft target especially in if the car is still on the euro mainland. The aerial is a dead giveaway that your car has a brand new nav that would yield the thief at least 700 euros.

Our local dealer will only accept cars from the bottom of the transporter as the top cars get damaged by trees

I know what you're saying superbia, Hard to believe them sometimes. Car is not coming through dealer network, but through the Taxi Centre in Glasgow, who have been very good in the past. Like has been said, depending on exact amount damage (have been told damaged beyond repair!), they could of fixed it up and I would of been non the wiser. I had already been told the chassis number and reg, so i will be checking on that! Although, the reg should stay the same as it had only been allocated and not registered yet.

We will see, I'm like a kid waiting for christmas. Bought a new tub of collinite, car lak and poorboys wheel wax in preperation!!!

I saw a new Octavia backed off the bottom deck of a transporter one day. It was a shame that the deck above hadn't been raised enough and Skoda were out of stock of roof panels.
