Must admit the results shocked me somewhat, as I expected a lot better from Lexus. Good to see Skoda so high in the table, and if you consider them as really part of the VAG group, they are the best German Manufacturer.

Japanese cars great if you only plan to keep them for three years. After that the rust sets in and values plummet due to bodywork issues.

If like me you are a tight fisted Scotsman and want best bang for buck, and reasonable reliability, the VRS makes a lot of sense.

Would also add, that of the Skoda range, the Octavia comes out top (Superb not yet listed) Fabia is reasonable, with most common problems being suspension and electrics. Suspension might be down to all that lowering going on :rofl::rofl:

How do they generate the scores?

How do they generate the scores?

Warranty direct compile from various sources. Dealer warranty claims, AA/RAC/Greenflag etc etc. Their site even list breakdowns by category (engine/electrics/transmission etc etc). They also list average repair cost, and time car off road to be repaired.

Of course anyone can be unlucky and get a lemon. Mates Alfa has never missed a beat, and it's on a W plate yet it's listed as one of the most unreliable cars out there.

What happened to Porsche?!

How the hell can there so much difference between AUDI, VW, Skoda & SEAT considering they are the same cars sharing parts, the only other factor is the country in which they built so a big cheer for the Czechs.:orb_clap:

Perception.

i was about to say how are they so spread out. Also, bmw havent done too well!

Well Well this does'nt suprise me I just got rid of my seat altea sport may share a lot within the VAG group but very poorly put together rattling and rough on the road and the after sales are crap my superb is brilliant as for the suzuki well the swift and alto have really brought suzuki up to the mark very quickly but I would have thought skoda would have been even higher up the scale

Where does this info come from? Who compiles it?

My mates x reg alfa is the same. He has had it 4 years, bought it with 150k on the clock, and has to replace 3 bulbs, 2 wipers and an exhaust back box to get it through the last 3 MOTs

Not bad for a car bought for £75 as a donor for the one he had

These figures mean nothing. Look at customer satisfaction surveys. Annoying niggles can make good cars look crap. Porsche only do so bad because of the boxter, which is a pile of sh**e, rest of the range is fine.

Also these figures do not take into account customer base, people who nothing about cars may except slight imperfections on a budget car such as a Citreon C1. Where an Audi driver for instance (probably a sales rep that spends half his life in his car) will get annoyed of the slightest thing...

IMO of course

Thats awesome.

SO its official: Why by something like a golf when you can have a golf ?

Cos its more reliable for a start ! hehe :o)

But seriously. 50K down, and so far not so much as a brake disk, pad, exhaust or anything; just major/minor services and tyre changes for me. Even the standard tyres lasted for over 35k (yeah, I know not driving it properly!)

Even our 1.4Mpi has only had the bushes done last year & battery changed last yr after 7yrs( thats consumable though/wear n tear right?). Still original zaust too ! The only big work required was where dozy other half drove it into a van requiring panelling repair ! One seriously hard tank.
