oh dear...... cough cough squeeeeeeeeeek!

Featured Replies

About a month ago I purchased a second hand octavia. I got a larger discount on it since I knew the flywheel was on it's way out. The flywheel got bad within 2 weeks and was done by a garage I know for 900 quid, they also fixed up any other issues the car had. There is however, bad news. the car ran great after picking it up..... expect, there's a but. There was a whine when you booted it which instantly stopped on lifting off. Now, a week later the engine sort of coughs when you lift off the gas. Not all the time mind you, only sometimes, but definately there. After reading the forums, a turbo issue seems most likely. What are my options, funds are seriously limited at this point!?!?

Mine makes that coughing noise from the turbo too but not if you drive it reasonably gently.

Are you sure its not just the famous engine stutter at 1800 - 2300rpm?

Mine has this problem but no change in performance:thumbup:

Sound like they havent connected a pipe correctly when repairing your fly wheel.
