Very interesting approach that. Hats off to the guy - he's clearly given it a LOT of thought!

Steve

Having seen this method used in action in the USA and using it myself I can say it works well.........:D

I had intended in buying a Rotary this year but now using the KBM I am achieving good results so am not sure it's worth it, I do however have some Rotary Tuition lined up for this weekend........

I still don't quite get the KB thing. I think it's kind of hard to read about in forum format, spread over multiple posts. That said, I saw you using it and I still don't get it. :o

I'm working up the nerve to 3000 grit wet sand some scratch and chip touch ups I've done on the Mrs' Corsa. Any of you guys done it before? I've read about it on DW and seen videos on youtube etc but I still find it daunting.

That was the first time I had tried it on yours mate, so was still experiementing........:D

I have to say though, having been shown this method first hand in the USA, it was made to look very easy........

Done some wetsanding but not for stone chip repair, I would think it would be fairly easy as it's such a small area but then would worry about the limitations of a DA as it may not have enough cut and be able to get the head into the panel?

From what I've read, if you do it with the megs 3000grit as opposed to 2000 / 2500, you can supposedly buff out the resulting haze even by hand (eventually!). Think it might be one of those jobs I keep procrastinating about for a while. :)

Go for it and let us know how you get on.........

I need to bring you to Barbados in about 2 weeks to detail mine and mum's car. This is truly excellent work.

Just a very quick update regarding the longevity of the Zaino finish on this.

The car hasn't been washed for a good few weeks and has recently sat covered in snow in extreme cold whilst I was on holiday. I was therefore pleased yesterday to see it still beading nicely. Most impressed with the Zaino. I've been going over it with Megs NXT QD / Megs UQD after every other wash.

I think if my new one was another race blue, I'd invest in the Zaino products myself. As it's white, I think I'm just going to go for the Jetseal 109. Dunno if there's any real logic to that! :)

Glad to hear that Zaino is doing it's best and I am sure that Jetseal will do you well on the white paintwork, when does the new car land?

Thanks Rob.............

Yesterday! B)

Sat in it this afternoon. Went in the dealership to get an update on the build to see if it would be ready for 1st of March and he said "it's round the back - arrived yesterday".

5 and a bit weeks to go. Fingers and toes crossed it doesn't get dented / scratched / washed by them in their compound.

Sure it will be worth the wait mate, liked the one that I worked on recently so the black wheels should set it off a treat............
