Hi. Coming to end of 2nd 3 year spell with A3 Sports & need a change. A3 beautiful to look at, not good to drive and now too common. Almost certain to go for new vRS.

I can afford all 4 FL variations. I do 12,000 miles per year, it's a company car & petrol vRS manual will be almost identical in tax penalty as my present A3 1.8T FSI.

Like many other correspondents I am absolutely torn four ways. To make it worse I can't decide on silver, white or black either (started out wanting grey but am I the only one who is disappointed in how it loojks on the LE?). Anyone actually got (or have pictures of) a grey FL vRS.............are they really available?

Anticipation of ordering a VRS is being tempered with the agonies of choosing.

Decide to join Briskoda today as my doctor suggested it might help!!

Well apart from some nice "Hellos" (thanks folks) and a debate about silver vs red I haven't had much help from Briskodians so I thought b****r you anyway I will make my own mind up.

First Skoda ordered from Thomson & Potter : FL Octavia vRS diesel in silver with heated seats & reversing sensors for delivery 1 April 10.

Happy to be a real Briskodian now......my wife thinks I am mad aas I could have had another Audi but I know what I am doing.

Cars are on 3 yr leases and my leaser wanted to "fix" cost as much as poss. Also I think there is BIG demand for FL and I wanted to be sure about getting mine on time. 6 months of hell but how sweet then?? Winter over & salt off roads. Cheers for silver mate.

Torture nearly over.

You have a much more patient disposition than I.

I ordered mine during the last week of September & took delivery the week before christmas.

The car has been brilliant, comfortable, quiet, exhilarating to drive. In short, fun, enjoyable motoring.

The only downsides for me are tyre related.

I hope that yours does not come equipped with Dunlop Sport Maxx GT's, well do not worry if it does, you won't have them for long !

I have done 6500 miles with mine & the fronts are nearly are at the wear markers, no, I do not drive like a proverbial Corsa Boy, nor do I have the TC light on constantly, they are just soft. Also have the alignment checked after 1,000 miles, I did & it was within the factory spec, problem is, factory spec will wear the inner edges of the rear tyres in such a way that you will get a constant humming at 40mph+, there is a revised setting which reduces the negative camber on "problem cars", but this is not given out normally. My car goes to Wheels in Motion in a couple of weeks to have the geometry sorted out properly.

Please don't let my comments put you off, you have got a fabulous car coming, I had an early WRC edition, sold it, but came back for more.

Enjoy it, just cross your fingers on the tyres.
