Bonnet Lifters query

Featured Replies

Hi all...

Some years back I had a Golf MKIII GTI 8v. I bought a set of bonnet lifters for it from eurocarparts. Never got round to fitting them to it though..... Lazy and un-motivated as ever.... :(

Anyhow... does anybody know if they'll fit my VRS? I am more motivated and less lazy these days (see my parcel shelf thread for evidence of my increased productivity heheh..) and my last ride... (VW Bora) had bonnet lifters and I miss them....

If anyone knows for sure they'll fit... I'll have a crack at fitting them.

Thanks in advance.

Garry. :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

The easiest way to find out is compare them side by side and see if they are the same length and have the same fittings. Many off the hatch and bonnet struts are common acroos all makes of motors.

Garry, Just punt them and buy a kit off of Jason (Devonutopia) for £45ish, Guaranteed to fit!

I don't think that the OP has anything to compare them with though - or he would not have needed to start this thread.

I was just gonna post that myself....

The lifters I have are a pattern aftermarket set. Sized allegedly for a mark 3 golf. But...

They look like they are a pretty universal set and I can't see why they wouldnt fit any car. Just as long as a good mounting point can be found.

I haven't physically put them up against my bonnet yet, but they have a ball/swivel type joint at one end and come with some broken english fitting instructions. :confused:

I might go out side and dig them out and have a butchers later today...

Got to try and get my other current project finished today as resistance from Mrs Grr is increasing regarding the parcel shelf that's been sitting right in the middle of our front room carpet for a couple of weeks.... And rightly so.... ( She made me say that... :D:D:D)

Yes I suppose having the correct "end parts" is what its all about.

Having things lying around the house, yes, I've just had to "hide" all my satellite dish(es) in sensible places due to (wife's) friends coming round for a meal. When my mate and his wife visit and vis-vera, we both tend to show off our latest "toys" - a bit like kids really - its always good for a laugh (now I wonder if he wants some "extra" satellite dishes?).
