I've had my octy RS remapped by jabba and the boost controller fitted and I've now got a Milltek exhaust system, downpipe all the way back, on it's way to me. I know I should have had it done the other way round but will I still gain much or have I completely ******ed this tuning malarky up here?

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Lots of members have added performance mods after remapping etc and I am sure you will feel the gains in performance from the exhaust. Having the remap 'tweaked' might well result in a bit more power still but is unlikely to be cost-effective. Fit and enjoy.

ECU should adapt to it so not a major worry........you will feel the extra torque plus the engine note will sound deeper during acceleration.

No real difference in the power you could get from the remap; although the figure would of course be higher. You'll gain from the exhaust and I fitted mine psot ecu upgrades thus gaining some performance

Most changes in the 1.8T remap do not factor the exhaust, so tweaking will be expenisve for any real gains.

i know monkeyboy had his remap tweaked after having the exhaust changed etc but he did change a few other bits n bobs as well, the car wasnt running crash hot either so he had the remap redone and a boost controller fitted. depends who you had the remap with a whether they will tweak the mapping for a reduced cost or not. also if you live near them and its convenient...

Cheers for the advice, probably decide not to do it then as it's a good full days trip for me to get to Jabba just for a tweak which as you all seem to think won't make much of a difference.

I had the remap before exhaust, they fitted the exhaust and it gained more torque but no more bhp. I went back for a re-remap and boost controller and didn't really feel much difference to be honest, I'd say save your money up for a FMIC, then get it remapped
