What product to use on new bumper trims ???

Featured Replies

I've been having problems with the front and rear bumper trims on my 53 plate vrs going grey (see picture below).

Tried megs, auto glym, Halfords stuff and even peanut butter but still can't get them back to black

So i've decided to bin them and order some new ones which I want to look after from the get go.

Plz could you advise what product is best to use on these trims ??

Thanks

Thanks, where do you get that from ?

Another option Is get them painted & you would never have to treat them:thumbup:

Halfords stock it mate, so do A1 motor-stores. 500Ml spray bottle, and it lasts for ages, as you only need a little on a sponge pad to apply. It's also long lasting between applications. Good for door seals and engine bay detailing as well.

Or the cheap option is peanut butter....this will clean and shine getting all the dirt out of the grain in the trim

Oggy, see you've had yours painted (and they do look good) is it expensive to get them painted ???

To buy new ones, Skoda quoted me £36 for rear and £40 for front plus vat.

Thanks

I read and hear a lot of good things about 'Black Wow' but am yet to source and use some..........:o

This is good stuff, but it is expensive & isn't as long lasting as people make out.

As you're buying new trims I'd go with some Aerospace 303 protectant....you obviously won't need the cleaning ability of nut oils/peanut butter & the 303 offers the best long term protection from UV & the elements (IMO).

It didn't cost me alot as my friend Is a sprayer & did them for me, but I wouldn't Imagine It would cost alot to do at an independant bodyshop anyway.

Had some fun today with Chris_Focus on this topic, used Peanut Butter, Black Wow, Aerospace 303 and some Megs Trim Detailer..........:D
