Turbo problem

Featured Replies

After warming up my remapped VRS Fabia i decided to open her up on a nice stretch of road. when coming out of a roundabout i went to put my foot down and had nothing. Like the Turbo has just didn't want to work. There were no noises or anything to suggest that the turbo has blown

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Boost hose at intercooler has probably popped off.

:+1:

Certainly the thing to check first...

Awesome thanks. So it doesnt sound like a turbo that has gone?

By all accounts, if the turbo had gone you'd know about it mate.

Another vote for the turbo pipe going into the intercooler. Happened to me, only the plastic coupling bracket on the intercooler had fractured so I needed a new intercooler. Hopefully your problem will be a simple loose connection!

Took a look and no loose pipes anywhere. I took it to my mechanic and he said that there is a fault on the turbo or a fault on the sensor because i tried it this morning and the turbo was working fine.

Sounds like the turbo went to the safe mode, best thing is to check for any fault codes logged.

Probably sticking VNT or N75 Vacuum causing overboost, hence the limp mode.

Have you had a full check of the pipework done? Some of it is quite tricky to get to, and requires the car to be jacked up and the undertray off.

Post up the fault codes once you've had it scanned.
