side light bulb is now in my lense! help

Featured Replies

Changed my light bulbs earlier to better ones but when i pulled the side light plug out the bulb got caught and fell into the lense. Can I take the lense apart easily or is it gona stay there fo the rest of its life? What an idiot lol :o thanks

If you can somehow attach a small flexible tube to your vacuum cleaner, you may be able to remove the main bulb holder and suck out the offending bulb. I've done a similar thing with a broken tail light bulb. Don't ask me why I have a small suction tube on my vacuum cleaner!!

I just dont think i have anything small enough to do that but will have a look around the house for anything that migt work. thanks

My small tube was nicked from a shower hose that fits on a bath tap.

My missus doesn't believe this.

Probably easier and safer to remove the headlamp unit completely from the car and shake it upside down till the bulb falls out??

I'd suggest not to poke anything into the reflector area, because the chrome is very very delicate, it sometimes easily smears at the lightest of touches

That's prolly the best bet.

Double sided tape rolled in a ball and stuck on the end of a pen or summat, thats how I did it when one dropped out into the rear light cluster.

Might not be as easy on the Flabia's headlight.

HTH

the bulbs small wire contacts will be magnetic, so if you have a small magnet, stick it too a thin bit of wood or whatever, then have a gentle poke about

i have a Snap-on telescopic magnet for this sort of problem and for picking up lost bolts etc

Something tube like to fish it out with, with a little blob of blu-tack on the end. :)
