Fiat Puunto Grande sporting 1.9

Featured Replies

It is a bit penny pinching , isn't it.

I know that a Fiat is a bit of a cheaper alternative , but things like that still grate on the nerves.

Their dealer customer service leaves a lot to be desired from my recent experiences too. The Service manager looked most disgruntled when I had the temerity to ask about a problematic 2 gear on my Sedici (design fault). In fact he didn’t really want to stop talking to his mate who had dropped in.

Shame really as I have owned 5 Fiats (+ 1 Lancia Beta Coupe) and have always found them to have a bit of flair and be good value for money.

Im going to look at one tonight, 42,000 miles 06 plate. with the intention of buying

Any particular things I should be looking out for on bodywork or engine?!

Thanks!

bodywork, check for stone chipping, they can become a bit of a mess at the front if not looked after..

engine, is generally indestructable, but watch if it feels stupidly fast, they can be mapped to 190+bhp, but that destroys the turbo and clutch, people that map to those levels are living on borrowed time....

brakes should feel very strong, and bite near the top of the pedal travel.

otherwise its just the 'normal' things, check for no knocking over bumps (or when steering lock to lock at low speed, as the top mounts can seize), check for hesitation below 3.5k as the EGR valves can stick, just the general stuff you would do with most test drives....

let us know how you go!
