armrest

Featured Replies

does anyone know if an armrest comes as standard on a Fabia Greenline? I test drove one that had one but cant see it in the list of specs!

I have one in my Fabia 3 - and I find it gets in the way more than it's helpful.

I know that doesn't answer your question but thought you might like to know.

That's right.........it's a pain in the (....) :thumbdwn:

I had Fabia 3 too and always lifting the arm rest up to have an accessibility to the hand brake and the shift lever.

Got a greenline loan car few weeks ago, no armrest

I was told by dealer that you can't get them on the greenline.

If the greenline has the same middle console that also covers the handbrake and has a small cupholder at the back, it should be easy to install the armrest afterwards. The armrest is not cheap though. I installed one in my wifes roomy, she dislikes it very much because it is in the way if you want to pull up the handbrake. So most of the time it is standing up and is unused. If I (rarely) drive the car, I use it.

How did you fit it then, did you need to make holes or does it stick on, etc.

Thanks.

As people have said they are a waste of time imho, i use it to store things in but never have it folded down.

I wouldn´t do without it....

Regarding access to brakehandle its only, in my opinion, a matter of getting used to it. It´s not a problem in every day use.

I find it very comfortable to rest my arm on.

Just my 2 cents.......... ;)

I totally agree

You dont need to make any holes, as long as you buy the original Skoda armrest (pretty expensive).

You will have to unscrew the middle console and lift it at the back. The armrest post will fit on existing holes already in the car (holes with welded in nuts, dont know how to describe these things....)

The post will go throught the rectangle little box you will have to take out.

All the aftermarket armrests will have to be drilled in the sides of the middle console and will not be as stable as the original one that directly bolts onto the car.

Skoda provides a good instruction leaflet how to install.

I would agree that you are waisting your money buying the armrest, you would have to be doing a lot of motorway driving where it would not get in the way. I have one on my Fabia Scout and I tried it last week on a 100 ml. trip mostly on dual carriageway, It was fine until I reached Dundee where you have to go round about 10 roundabouts, and I would say that it would have been dangerous to have kept it down. Hope this is of some help to you.

This.

Perhaps it helps that I have long and quite flexible arms but I soon got used to manipulating the gears and handbrake with the arm rest down. I find it very comfortable and the storage box is useful.

How on earth can you mean it is dangerous to use driving though roundabouts........

Claming it is dangerous is complet nonsens.

If you can´t go though roundabouts with the armrest down, I´m not sure the armrest is the actual problem here.............. ;)

I drive though Copenhagen every day using the armrest and have NO problems at all.

You can always discuss if it´s worth the money but that you can do with everything.

Everybody is entitled to an opinion, and in my opinion it is very difficult to change gear entering and leaving Roundabouts. (Just not something i would recomend)

Just re-reading my old post, if you still feel the same about the armrest, and if it is the same as the roomster/fabia item, would you consider removing it and selling it on?
