2 flip keys or one??

Featured Replies

Can anyone tell me if a vRS SE would've come with two flip keys or just one when new? The Skoda dealer I bought the car from is claiming one flip key and one standard key as the norm.

Cheers

should have 2 flip keys, no standard form key. Looks like ones been lost or not handed in.

2 flip with remotes

welcome to the forums :)

Thanks guys

Haha, this is the second post like this in the last few weeks - all VAG cars should come with two flip keys, don't let the dealer fob you off.

Simply not true, run out and buy a Seat and see what you get - and always have got from them. For the record my daughter had a 6K Ibiza 1.4 Chill second hand - and they got one "remote" key and one plain key - I asked someone that had one from new and they confirmed that this is what the cars have from new. That same daughter picked up a new Ibiza SC 1.4 on Saturday and they now come with one flip key and one plain key, so nothing has changed there. Also within marques, it would also be possible for this to be "level" dependant - even if the cars all had remote locking.

Ha ha I see what you did there, very good:D

Glad you liked that one mate! Haha! :D

rum4o - excuse my apparent ignorance. I am well and truly chastened.

In any case, the OP should have got two flip keys with his vRS - this is what you get and have always got with them.

Well if it helps, my Fabia came with two flip keys. In addition (not sure how relevant this is) but my gf's MK6 Golf also came with two flip keys.

Well the dealer was sticking to his story so I called Skoda UK - 10 mins later the business manager at the dealership was on the phone arranging a replacement flip key :D

Yarp, mine came with 2 identical flip jobs, better than the previous brand new Mondeo I had, one flip and a boggo service spare! Bloody Fords!!!!

I'd reckon that you were lucky there as as soon as a car is secondhand, small details like having all the correct keys goes by the way - unless you specifically made "two original style keys present" as part of the agreed deal. The reason that I found out quickly about Seat was that Imy daughter was promised a second key when she went to collect her second hand car - and was given a plain key a few days later - I jumped to the conclusion that she was being short changed - but was proved wrong!

Talking about Fords, I bought my wife a 6 months old - 1500 miles exChannel Isles Fiesta a few years ago (first owner was FoMoCo), it came with only one proper key - but it was missing its light and a small "Tee" key, the Mitsubishi dealer helpfully put the tag with the lock number in the bin - which I quickly got him to retrieve as it would come in useful - dealers!!!
