Octy II Wheels

Featured Replies

Does anyone know the PCD/Offset etc for the Octy II 16" steel wheels.

I'm 99.9% certain the PCD is 5*112.

Also does anyone know any other vehicles in the VAG range or elsewhere which would have suitable wheels.

I know the VW sharan used 16" 5*112 PCD wheels, so wondering if the ford and seat versions did too as there were loads of them on steels.

I don't need the tyres, just steel rims (if the price was right I'd consider some surface damaged or good condition alloys).

Thanks

I was hunting for something similar on ebay only yesterday, what with all this winter tyre talk.

Sadly, I couldn't find diddly-squat though. :(

P.S. I'm pretty sure they're 5x112 PCD

Octy 1 is 5x100

Octy 2 is 5x112

Fabia is 5x100

Superb is 5x112

Some Seat's eg Leon IIRC are 5x112

Audi A4 B5 Platform are 5x112

Golf 5 are 5x112

Yep, it's the offset I'm more after really :)

If you have a got a spare wheel, (mines a 16" steel) wont the offset and size be stamped on it?

It is too dark outside for me to go and look at mine.

PCD you have covered. For offset/ET, 48 sticks in my head.

As for finding steels, I would look at the basic versions of the Mk5 & Jetta and try to find a set when someone's upgraded to alloys. Often some on eBay. Or get 4x spares from a breakers, from front-damaged versions of the cars mentioned above :D

If you want to make ABSOLUTELY certain then you can always take a wheel off, there will be a marking on the inside of the rim giving you all this info .............................. but for the record PCD 5x112 ET48 ;)

My winter 16" wheels are from a Seat Altea and are PCD 5x112 ET50 (also marked with a VW stamp)

Paid £59.99 for all 4 on ebay in the summer and they are mint condition off a 1 year old car that had an alloy upgrade. So there are some deals to be had out there if you keep looking. Mind you by the looks of it you could be bidding against each other :D

I'd go with this suggestion.

I'd go with this suggestion.

I don't have a steel spare, it's an Alloy and I couldn't see any markings on it covering the Offset etc.

Will have a look at the spare again later.

Just had a look at my spare for you (56 Plate Oct vRS).

The wheel (steel) is a 6.5J x 16 and the offset (ET) is 50, the part number of the wheel is 1K0 601 027A, and these will obviously clear the 312mm brakes fitted to the vRS. Its running 205/55 R16 91V tyre, ideal winter size.

Thank you.. now I just need to find a set somewhere before we go back to summer tyres :)

6.0 x 16 ET50 or 6.5 x 16 ET50

6.0 x 16 ET50 is allowed to be used with chains.

I did have a look, but with them being in newport and collection only unless the seller replies to my e-mail of would he be willing to courier for a charge, then I can't see me getting them.

If you have a vRS I would check that 6J wide wheels clear your front brakes ok before buying those.

I have the VRS brakes.

6J, 8J or 4J - this won't matter for brake clearance.

What will matter is the diameter 15", 16" or 18"; 16" will clear; or why else would a vRS be equipped with a 16" spare.

I have to disagree on that one, the width and ET will have an impact on brake caliper clearance also. A narrower wheel (depending on the ET) will bring the back face of the wheels front closer to the side of the caliper.

From upgrading to the 312mm the only thing that changes is the calliper carrier which moves the existing carrier further out. The caliper itself comes no further forward, although I do take the point regarding the top edge being closer in and so rubbing on the calliper face.

Certainly not worth taking a chance on.
