Fabia 1.2 2004 losing coolant and wont start sometimes

Featured Replies

This is my first post on the site due to the above problem.

Bought 2004 fabia back in July and have had no problems until recently. Started losing coolant from the tank a month/ 2months a go and has got worse over time. Now goes from max to min level in 60 mile trip. Have coffee coloured mix under the oil cap.

Also having problems starting car first thing in the day- new problem also. Turn the key and it sounds dead almost lke a dead battery but rocking the car around a bit seems to make it catch after afew tries. Thought this was the starter motor- so i had this replaced and still getting the same issue.

Any ideas on what this might be/ or, if the two problems might be connected?

Got a bad feeling...head gasket maybe and possibly more???

I think you know the answer, head gasket. If it's bad then water could be hydraulically locking the affected cylinder(s) making it slow to turn over. I would get it checked out soonest or you could be looking at much more damage.

Thanks for the feedback. I have it booked in for this week.

Anyone have ideas on the starting issue though- would like to think replacing the head gasket will fix all but not sure??

Seems to be first start of the day when this happens.
