You guys.....tut tut

I must admit , the first time I hear them , I wanted one

Yes.....I have one at home waiting to go on

It is a Forge one , so you know it will be quality stuff ;)

The first one I heard was on a Fabia vRS

It sounded great , so I went off and you guessed it :D I got one

Yes , it will not give extra BHP

Yes it is a dump valve , bit if wired in correctly , you can add a toggle switch to switch it off and on

So there you go.......

Yes it can be done on your car

The only down side is Forge do not make them any more :(

Sorry

Sarah

Oh, I'm not so sure. It does an A1 job of making you look/sound stupid.

Dont be sorry Sarah, the rest of the diesel community isnt :P

Hello and welcome to this forum. :wavey:

The way that diesels work, a dump valve will not do anything at all if you fit one. This is because a diesel does not have a throttle valve and does not restrict the airflow into the engine, unlike a petrol one. There is another explanation here: TDIClub FAQ - Blow-off valves or BOV or similar The rest of the FAQ is very useful as well.

You can fit an electronic operated dump valve, this will produce the sound of one but will not do anything to the performance of the car. I have even heard they actually decrease performance slightly when gear changing, and could damage the turbo, as it dumps more pressure than it needs to.

This is what an electronic one will sound like:

That sounds like someone stood close by suffering from terrible interferance over a Walkie Talkie :rotz:

Do it, it's easily the best mod there is!

Hi there,

I thought that Dump Valves were no use whatsoever on Diesels with the VTG Turbo?

If you have one then I think it's better to be an electric one?
