Shattered passenger window

Featured Replies

I have a 56 reg Octavia. Last week when getting in the car my passenger closed her door and the window shattered. I have never come across this before, has anyone else? I have got the glass replaced by a glass company but not fixed properly because I appear to be missing a plastic bush that goes through the hole in the window and locates in the window mechansim as I understand it. I have one bush and need two but goodness knows where the second one has gone. My local Skoda dealer says I need to buy a whole new window mechanism circa £70! for one plastic bush:confused:

not uncommon in cars a few things could have caused it

pressure in cab

tempreture in cab and outside air

already damaged

my rear window shatterd while driving along at 30 mph with kids in the back and that toughened glass and jut as well i had it tinted so it stayed in place.

again i was told by the guy that replaced the window that this is a common prob with cars and is usaully linked to temp

pain in the arris

mine got smashed when some toe rag though he should attempt to steal my radar/gps speed camera detector which was tucked under the passenger seat. Little fooker bent the door in the process to.

Not quite sure what brush your talking about - are you referring to one of the strips which runs across the top of the window opening hole in the door? If so a trip to your locally scrappy might prove fruitful. Otherwise I am a little lost as to quite what part your missing.
