I'm asking this because I saw some high sided plastic trays in my local garden centre that looked like they would fit the bill for boot protection, and under £30. Skoda price is £115 for their plastic boot dish.tom

How about a bin liner? Or builders polythene? A clean sheet every day!!

Hi Tom,

sorry forgot about this thread with the site issues, anyway I have the spare fitted and bear in mind the rear sill has a slight curve the following is what I have just measured.

width between arches 1m

depth seat back shortest distance 72cm

depth seat forward shortest distance 86cm

Note: centre seat does not slide and is fixed in the back position.

Hi, Could you measure what the maximum length is with the rear seats out and the front seats right back. Thanks Matthew

There are a couple of rather good solutions for the garden centre - which also keeps you from dirtying the boot:

1. Small or larger trailer - if you have the parking space at home. This is a one time investment, which lasts a very long time and if necessary allows you to transport up to 1.8 tons (UK) or 2 tons in Europe with the Yeti. Probably expensive if the missus takes full advantage of the load capacity.

2. You already have roof rails, so a couple of cross-pieces will let you carry all the long and skinny stuff on top and the tall plants (which did not fit in the Passat) in the boot.

On the other hand, not having the volume in the boot might save you some £££'s in the long run :giggle:

Again I'm ressurecting another old thread. Sorry

But would someone be so kind as to confirm the distance from the back of the centre seat to the boot door please?

With the centre seat, fully reclined?

and With the centre seat, in the most upright position?

Our Springer needs a bigger dog cage and i'm trying to workout how much space we have front to back so as not to loose too much boot space. But not having the Yeti yet makes this a little difficult.

If only the bloody centre seat would slide :swear:

Thank you so much

Hello Big Rich,

If you're not carrying 3 people in the back seats, have you thought about getting the center rear seat out for this task? This way you can move the two rear seats to the center and forward, so there's more room both in the boot and also to the sides of the two rear passengers.

Yes this is an option but wanted to know the worst case sizes if I had to carry 3 people plus the dog, which we do do sometimes?

The biggest trouble is trying to workout how much more growing said dog has, she is 9 months old now, but both parents where small.
