Ebay TIP Surprise!!!!!!!!!

Featured Replies

That vid is from an old Jetta iirc the pipe was later revised for the metal one which bolts onto the turbo. I can pretty much guarantee the silicone one won't collapse, it's too damn hard. Also the beauty of the silicone one is it's all one piece so won't disrupt the air flow at all.

I had the Autobahn88 one it was a 4 ply construction and very well made. It did once come off the turbo but only because I was messing swapping between CAI and air box.

Another +ve for the Autobahn88. All my Silicon hoses are made by them(apart from recent OCC install) and very good Quality and a very good price.Oscar221.jpgVRSOCCMod069.jpg

Yeah im thinking of getting a metal one rather then the silicone pipe, did you notice any improvements? i dont want to spend out for one and not gain anything, as they cost a fair bit. Cheers

If you look at my previouse posts mate, there was a link there but I cant find anything now.I got it off ebay and was a bit worried it wouldnt fit but it did ne probs.fact Ive just found this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-Golf-Jetta-1-8T-K03-K04-Turbo-Inlet-Air-Intake-Pipe_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem5633027079QQitemZ370222985337QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessoriesI dont think mine was from them mate. once I had this put on I noticed the car was a lot smoother. check my sig tho for the mods Ive got. all I need now is a 2.5" DP to go onto the 200cel cat and it should be nice and ready for a hybrid loloh n the sound of the turbo is a tad more noticable with the CAI billy

Mmmm what sort of price do the Autobahn ones go for? May be tempted at the right price! Thanks for the link Billy, im unsure weather to go metal tip or silicone tip from airbox back.

I also went metal for simplicity lol,

there is only one small pipe to swap over were as if you change the hole thing you need to remove lots of them.

The only cars that suffered with the TIP collapsing is the TT (as in the video)

As for the cheap copies that you can get.....nah

There are copies and do not have the extra supports within the layers of sillicon and so can suffer more with problems

As for copies , we have also seen internals of the hoses come away and dissapear....sometimes within the turbo....

Is it worth it?
