New TSI vRS Estate

Featured Replies

Ok I posted a pic of my new car in the 'long delivery' thread a few days ago but thought it deserved it's own one with a couple of more shots as well! I've had it just over a week now and covered only 200 miles due to work getting in the way of enjoying the car, but my impessions are of a smooth and refined engine and a high quality interior. The Bolero unit is fantastic with excellent speakers, and I like the way the climate/heated seats/reverse sensors also display on the screen.

The pictures don't seem to show how dark the sunset glass is - I would say roughly twice as dark than the front windows. Other options are Xenons (I love the way the lights do a little dance when you turn them on to show the cornering function is working!), heated vRS leather seats, silver roof rails, Maxidot, reversing sensors and spare wheel. Oh, and I know the fence needs tidying up!

Nice! The best colour!

I have only managed 500 miles in mine so far, and two washes

.... about that fence.

Very nice!!

Any chance of some interior pictures too? I know there's probably a few other pictures of the leather interior, but I need to decide if I need (want) leather or not.

Yep that looks the mutts nuts. Its very highly specced so it must have cost a fortune? What do you reckon a white estate with sunset would look like (other than the plod)? Cheers Beano

Cheers, cost wasn't (relatively) too bad. The dealer got to within a few hundred quid of the DTD price that I went armed with, and gave me an 'above book' trade in on my '08 Fabia estate as it was so clean. I also took advantage of the 2 year 0% deal.

White with sunset glass (and maybe darker wheels) would look great!

I'll do some interior photos in a bit when it's stopped raining.

Sometime next year then!

AAAARRRGGHHHH !

So Jealous, its looks Fab, just cannot wait for mine now, if it does in fact get built this week, then I guess realistically I am going to be looking at a week 1 2010 delivery.

I just need soemthing to keep me occupied for a few weeks............

That'll look cool - I know, because that's what I'll be ordering.

Here's a picture of the pre-facelift model FYI

Looking forward to seeing the interior picture (thanks). Hopefully the rain will stop before the snow starts.

I was going with white, but just did not have the B*lls to do it (well actually SWMBO prefererred Silver), Had a white one before (71/100 Original Ltd Editions) & think they just look Awesome.

It's stopped raining for 5 minutes. I think for the money the leather is a good upgrade (esp. heated). It's not Jaguar quality, but it's more than good enough and will improve with a bit of leather conditioner to soften it up.

Thanks very much - I really like the leather, but not sure if there's reserves in the coffers

Lovely looking car , can you tell me how bright are those led lights?? and are they on only when the engines on or only when the lights are turned on??

1st vRS I see here with Xenon. Good choice.

The LED lights are bright as they are on all of the time when the ignition is on, i.e. for day time use. When you put the 'sidelights' on they dim (the sidelight bulbs do not work), and the rear and dash lights come on.

Looks spot on. Like the silver rails too, a nice addition.

Still looks very high for my liking though; I wonder if it'll settle down a little as you do some more mileage.

Im 50/50 on the new face lift. Some times when i see one i think it looks good other times it seems to much.defintely the best colour though. love the leather seats.you should look into getting the eibach lowering springs fitted by skoda. about £150 iirc, and only lower the car a further 15mm but it makes such a huge difference to the looks. Where abouts in kent are you. If you ever consider a remap, Im in medway, kent so i can show you what you can expect from it.

So are the sidelights off when the lights are on?

Are they for parking only?....as they should ONLY be used IMO

Cheers, I think the silver roof rails make a surprising amount of difference to the look of the car. I'm ok with the ride height at the moment, I guess it will settle a little bit, but to my eye it certainly doesn't look like it's on stilts at the moment! As it stands the ride/handling compromise is IMHO very good at the moment and I wouldn't really want to change that for the sake of a slightly improved stance that I can't see when I'm driving. Never say never though...

Simon, I'm in Maidstone but I work in Medway so you might see me about at some point, usually between the Medway tunnel area and the M2 via the Hoath Way - my no. plate is quite distinctive (the first two letters suit the car as well!). I may well consider a remap in the future. My previous Mk 1 vRS had a Jabba map on it and was very impressive to drive. The new Revo map for the Tsi engine does sound excellent, but I would gve the car a few thousand miles and wait for the map to be well proven.

I do sometimes see a blue vRS hatch around Gillingham index M*** VRS. Would that be you?

Just up the road then - I work out of the big new (ish) building next to the set of 20 odd traffic lights. Usually drive an Octavia 4x4 at work.

I posted my pictures of my white vrs estate with sunset etc on day of delivery nearly 3 weeks ago.Where have you been??

On the FL vRS even when using the parking lights (via the indicator stalk) the LEDs come on. The conventional 'sidelights' never illuminate.
