I hate lorry drivers

Featured Replies

Driving home yesterday, saw a 7.5 tonner driving towards me. Only thing was he was driving real fast and taking a bend wide - now I used to be a long distance lorry driver so I know sometimes you do have to go wide. However he was well across the white lines, so I slowed up a bit and tried to get my vrs in tight, didnt matter he still smashed my wing mirror.Lets pretend he didnt know what he did at this moment, so I turned around and flashed him, lets pretend he didnt see me for the half mile it took before I overtook him and got him to stop. We had words - no, I had words. Had a look at the damage which at first he denied, but it was quite clear that on a filthy car there was only one place where the dirt had been scraped off by the front of the truck.Asked him for his details, which he refused, I phoned the police. Told the police what happened, they said they'ld send a car. At this point I thought it would be a good idea if the police would take the other drivers details over the phone, the police man said yup good idea. When i handed the other knob the phone he tried to explain his "side" of the story - I warned the knob to just give the cops his details, he kept waffling on. I lost the rag and threatened to punch his feckin lights out if he didnt give me my phone back. He gave it back. I had to walk off because I was inches from stamping on this guys head.Shortly after he gave me his details.Anyway, I rang the insurance company - had an argument with them as well. Turns out because there was no witnesses, it would be my word against his. I told the insurance people to just forget it, I wouldnt be claiming, they said its now logged on the system and ill have to declare it from now on.I then put it to the insurance people - hypothetically, if im in say, Tescos and I come back to my car to find a door ding on my car am I supposed to inform them of that as well? They said yes.It was a bad day, rant over.PS anybody got a black magic drivers wing mirror for sale?

Arg, I feel your pain. Just be glad it wasn't worse mate.

Did you get any company info off the truck?Take it up with them also.

Stinks doesn't it? When rammed from behind, I asked the offender to agree where the 'accident' happened. They said they would when the Police arrived. When they did, I asked again only to be told by the Police that I could only ask for their insurance details. Not sure whether this was completely true (the Cheshire WPC also asked for the MOT - on a 6 month old car), but it is difficult to know your position in the dark and cold. Do you feel that Tesco's are good at being supportive? I'm with Direct Line and have been well looked after, but they were not the cheapest. Do you feel that you get what you pay for?

Yup, even informed stuff you must declare. And yes, this will affect premiums too.

Another reason to put the frieght back onto the rails!
