Just thought you'd all like to know that the Superb TDi is featuring in tommorow nights TopGear episode.The team are given a towing challenge and they choose the Superb Elegance TDi (oddly the 140BHP).

This one should be interesting to say the least, will they conclude that the average man doesn't need the space, or will they say something like Skoda makes a car like cars should be made, Clarkson being tall I would think will be saying all nice about it.

Top Gear, Skoda and towing (caravans?) doesn't sound like a good mix to me, if Skoda are wanting some positive publicity out of this!

That was both brief and disappointing.

Funny though that they implied it wasn't any good.

Yes so far this series seems to be a bit of a disappointment like the one before last. Much appears staged and so much for expecting some sort of review of the superb instead some backhanded remarks about how bad it was and only for people who caravan?

Oh gawd, if they thought the Superb wasn't any good what are they going to say about the Insignia when the time comes, if VX have any sense they won't supply a car for review at all, I like the show, but I'm afraid this Mondeo is all thing is getting a bit thin and false imo.

I don't think any of the comments tonight were about the Superb!

He even said when the caravan had gone that you could use the 140 to its full potential, or words to that effect. The piece was about caravanning mainly and a bit about the Balboni...

Loved the Lancia piece. Brought back happy memories of the Montecarlo, Intergrowler and the Beta Coupe (I had one and it nearly bankrupted me )

After watching it, it wasn't even a feature, they just used the car to tow the van to the balloon shed.

I think you will find they have described BMW drivers as ‘C0cks’ for most of the years you will have watched it. Only recently did Audi steal the crown.

I hardly watch any TV but I used to look forward to Top Gear every week.Sadly the last few series have been disappointing, this is especially true of the current series. The early "challenges" were good because they'd show off a car and build some suspense but now it seems it's no longer a car show at all, it's just about Clarkson, Hammond and May just screwing around ... and it's not even enjoyable anymore. It's been too scripted for too long. Sorry chaps I've switched off from Top Gear and end up tuning into Fifth Gear now. As for the Superb being featured, surprised there wasn't even any mention of it. I was expecting it to get a slating for sporting a Skoda badge.

Didn't really like this episode and was a bit boring tbh. It does annoy me how staged everything is on the show now... and obviously so too!

I suppose Top Gear is good for a giggle if nothing else!

The info goes that 5th Gear in its current form will not be back for another series, but C5 haven't ruled out another motoring-based show.
