SD card music

Featured Replies

Anyone used the SD card for mp3 music?.................................................Do you load the tracks on individually or can you load them in albums as folders?........................................tom

Suggest you download the user manual for your radio from the same site as the Owners Manual.I am not a mp3 expert but I think the Bolero will take 8 levels of folders and files so folders can be accessed to 7 deep.

You can load them in artists as albums as folders provided that is how you have them ordered in your source file.

Thanks for this..........................tom

It will also accept {.m3u} playlists if you wanty to be a bit adventurous!

Does anyone know if the SDcard player radios can play Ogg Vorbis or FLAC encoded music files?? And also, if there is a size limit on the card; all of the players I have seen upto now only accept a maximum of 2Gb (SD as opposed to SDHC cards that go from 4Gb and up)

Bolero Manual says:

"Only MP3 data and unprotected WMA data can be read from the SD card. All other

data is ignored.", and

"Memory card case: SD memory cards (“Secure Digital Memory

Cardsâ€), SDHC (“Secure Digital High Capacity Cardâ€) and MMC

(“Multimedia Cardsâ€) measuring 32 mm x 24 mm x 2.1 mm and with

a capacity of up to 32 GB are available. The case for the memory card

is located under the display."

I have just bought a 16Gb SDHC card and am in the process of loading it up with music. Don't even have the car yet!

Yet! that's nearly a pun.

I've not got mine yet either - am thinking though that e.g. 4 x 4gb might be better (less time to index) ?

I would suggest you read these threads:

I've got a Bolero that will not shuffle (MIX) tracks at all, not even with all 2554 of them in one single folder & that applies to both HDD & SDHC card. :@

Most players have a limit on how many tracks they can index, maybe that is the problem, try using a card with only 3-4 albums on and see if this works. There is often a limit on how many levels down the "tree" they will go as well, my old Clarion SD player will only go 8 levels down.

There's 1 folder on the SD card, within it is 2554 tracks of music, no other folders/albums are within it, so it should play it perfectly.

2554 tracks is about 200 albums.

I suspect there is a limit of 256/512 files per folder; and possibly 256/512 Folders per card. Does it not give the limits in the tech spec for the player??

Another option is to check for a firmware update for the player from Skoda.
