Fabia Vrs Fuel Consumption

Featured Replies

Can anyone throw any light.

My recently acquired 06 Fabia VRS gave over 60 mpg on a recent 400mile journey. However on the return journey the consumption dropped to high 40s and has remained there. The only possible anomalies noted were on two occasions, when stopped at the roadside looking for directions with the engine running, it seemed to over speed at idle, but then settled. Also I now have noticed that when stationary, but at very low rpm, say 1100, the car / engine seems to shake a little. This clears when 1500 rpm is reached. This may have always been the case of course. The car has done 42,000 miles.

The only engine mods done prior to my ownership was a Jabbasport remap which gives about 170 BHP. I have a suspicion that the overall performance has lost its edge a bit too.

Thanks

Were you travelling North to South on the outward trip, and South to North on the return ?

Welcome to the site BTW

welcome to briskoda

Welcome along, best bet is to ask in the fabia section ;)

Welcome to the site mate, I'd ask this in the fabia section, you would get a lot more replies!

Ben

Sounds like my fabia at the moment and it's my MAF meter that's gone

rough idle

poor mpg

poor acceleration and feels like turbo lag between 2 and 3k revs

Welcome to Briskoda fellow south westerner.

As said already check the Fabia forum as there are plenty of thread already on going about fuel consumption or start another and see what people say
