cruise control not working

Featured Replies

just tied my curise control, but its not working ne more. was working fine wen i tried it last (about 2 months ago), but had the cambelt done last month, cud it have been disconnect or sumthing?

any help would be most welcome

thanks

Unlikely that the belt change could have affected anything related to CC. Check all your bulbs are functioning, especially brake light bulbs. If one is defective, CC is disabled.

Apart from that, a VAG-COM scan might be worthwhile, to see if any errors get flagged.

Was it factory or retro fit?

If retro fitted the "solder a blue wire" way, then it could be possible the solder joints gone or similar?

Strange you mention it was after a belt though. I had my car oil serviced recently and for a couple of days after the CC was really weird.. I really had to squeeze the controls for anything to happen.. a month on and it's fine now.

My old mechanics diagnostic computer (Snap On?) used to have different files depending on if the car had cruise or not. I wondered if this was some how linked and if maybe the CC retro fit had been missed by Skoda going by the manufacturing database when connecting up a pooter? All speculation though.

Most likely an ABS speed sensor fault.
