Is changing the MAF sensor a DIY job?

Featured Replies

Hi. Can I change it myself or do I need to take it to a garage? Just got mine delivered today!

Get your tool kit out :D

you can change it in 20 mins, you might need some torx scewdrivers or allen keys to remove a couple of screws,a pair of pliers to squeeze the large metal clips and a small screwdriver to remove the electric plug. cheers - Stuart.

Thanks for that. Sounds a bit tricky for me. Will take it to my mates local garage and I'll get it done there coz he has got all the tools.

It's shockingly easy to do. Really.

Uncrew old one. Screw back new one. What's difficult about that? :wonder:

Just got my local garage guy to change mine today. It took him all of 4 minutes. LOL. He even refused to take any money for it! I did give him a fiver for it though. The car is driving much better than before.

I am offering my services to anyone who needs their one changed in my locality!!!

Fair enough :p

How much is a MAF for a PD100 these days anyway? Pretty sure mine's been adversely affected by some stray K&N oil
