New Year 2010 get together

Featured Replies

At the SVAG meet last night some of us discussed the idea of having a wee get together early in the New Year before everyone heads back to work.

Hopefully everyone's hangovers will have disappeared by then so I'm suggesting Sunday 3rd of January although if people prefer Saturday 2nd is also a possibility.

I had thought of just meeting up for lunch or something followed perhaps by a short drive (weather dependant).

Anybody got any other thoughts and/or perhaps venue suggestions?

I would be up for this, Saturday would be best for me, but as usual it will be work dependant

AM UP FOR THIS AS LONG AS FOOD IS IN EQUATION LOL

I'd be up for this but there is a chance I might be having to go out for a family meal on either the 2nd or the 3rd not confirmed yet but my sister in law's birthday is the 3rd January so I'm going to say a maybe at the minute.

Go on then, i may aswell come say Happy New Year, then i can say i've been to a meet in 2010 :D

Yes I'll come along.

Either day is good for me at present :)

Im up for this sunday is best for me

I could be up for this if its somewhere near the borders and food and a drive are in order! :)

I'd be up for this . . Not been to a meet yet so it will be good to get to know you guys B)

Excellent, sounds like there'll be a good turnout. I like those :)

I'm happy to go into the Borders, though I might not stay for the drive if we do that as my parents will still be staying up here so it would be unfair to leave them for a whole day ... although I suppose they could come along, seeing as they own a Fabia now :)

What about meeting at coldstream for a bite to eat ? also its nice drive from edin down?

I have a 2 hour drive just to get to the borders

I just realised today my parents are heading back south that Saturday (I though it was Tuesday, but ne'ermind) so I can only make the Sunday now.

Working that Sunday!

Collective sighs!emoticon-0141-whew.gif

If it's a lunch and it's localish on the sunday reckon I could come but I have a funny feeling we will be going out for tea with my sister in law and family on Sunday evening.

Sigh ........

Sounds like Saturday suits the most people so far then, seems I might just have to miss out and catch up with y'all some other time :'( ;)

Well I think given that New Year 2010 is only 10 days away we need a final decision on this.

The majority of people who can attend seem to be from the Edinburgh area so the real question is do we want to meet up in Edinburgh or travel as suggested to the borders? perhaps given the recent inclement weather it may be better to stay in the local area.

Either day is currently fine for me although I would prefer Sunday but I'll let the majority decide.

My initial suggestion is possibly to just meet at the Melville Inn as per SVAG meets and just have some grub and some drinks, there will be plenty opportunity once the weather improves into the spring to spread our wings and arrange meets with other Scottish/North English members throughout the country.

Melville would be fine for me, but only if we can book the table by the fire  ;)

I can still only do the sunday:)
