Electric Mirror switch + Fans not working at all/propperly

Featured Replies

HI all,

long story short....

the electric mirror knob does not work on my Fabia SDI estate, the dealer I got it off ordered a new switch from Skoda directly (I know it's a new one because I watched the guy open the Skoda factory wrapper), we fitted it, and neither of the mirrors work...I have the new switch in hand - printed number on the back is 6Y2959565B-1351 - (but not the original one that worked when I viewed the car - it broke in between my viewing and buying, but it did feel very fragile when first saw it!). the car is the comfort model, so it has heated mirrors as well (would be really helpful with this cold weather lark!) I've not really got any idea where to start with this other than check the fuse box, and from what I can see, the fuse looks all right ....any ideas?

secondly

I noticed a couple weeks back that my fan was no longer working on settings 1 and 2, and only works on 3 and 4. I think it started when the fan made an odd noise if it was pushed very hard, like a bearing was shot or some similar sound. again, I can't for the life of me think why it would only half stop working lol, any help would be much appreciated :)

Cheers,

HJ

Not sure about mirror switch, but fan not working on speeds 1 and 2 is the fan speed resistor module. Quite a lot of trim has to come out to get at the little booger.
