Removing the drivers door card.

Featured Replies

Does the drivers door card need to be removed to replace the red led with a different one?

Has anyone done it and if so, how?

Are you talking about the boarding lights towards the bottom of the door?

If so, I believe that they pop out. It's a festoon-type bulb in there. Certainly no need to remove the door card.

Its the immobiliser L.E.D thats in the top of the door card, you'll have to take two torx screws out of the lower side of the panel. Then lift the window switches out. There will be another 2 or 3 bolts behind there that need removing.

Its then a case of using a trim removal tool and removing the card by prying the clips out.

Thanks for the info - yes it's the alarm led that I'm looking to replace.

Mind you, it certainly looks a lot a trouble for just one led.

I have finally managed to get hold of a chrome drivers door handle complete with the surround, do you just remove it the same way as all the others or do you have to disconnect the mirror adjuster and demister first

Unclip the mirror control wires, and then press the tags in and shove the handle surround out. Change the controls and speaker grill over if the other surround doesn't have one.

Be very careful of the plastic snap on fitting on the doorcard, very easy to break them or the piece that actually holds them onto the doorcard.
