Jabba Group Remap

Featured Replies

They did mention something about having a Skod in for the 300bhp big turbo conversion.......

It would be an animal with that sort of power :D

Car or owner? :D

That thread is depressing me. Must ring around a few insurers and start squirrelling away some pocket money. Jabba is just a quick blast up the A1(M) from home...

Is it starting to burrow away in the back of your mind ?

Did I lock the back door ? Did I feed the dog ? :D

The mental torture is a small price to pay... but they are booking 5 weeks ahead so cross the bridge sooner rather than later !:D

Can Jabba remap an already Jabba'd car ? ;)

That'd be fun !

I am trying to find out just that from Jabba. In point do they reckon its worth remapping a superchip with Milltek. I am sure most of you would think yes but their reaction was, talk to Elton or Mike as they think maybe its not.

Any techie's opinion would be welcome to help me make up my mind!

Chris

Go for it Denis - you know you want to :D :asthanos:

(and for a man of your sober habits the insurance hike is likely to be peanuts)

Chris - I guess it depends on how you find the Supachip. If it's driveable and enjoyable then Jabba won't get you any huge increases in "go" IMHO but they do do a superb job of making the car driveable. No nasty surprises, no lag, no spikes, just ultra smooth power and still great economy. If you already get that from the Supachip I would say they're right and stick with what you've got.

It is smooth and driveable as it is. I guess I am just curious to see what Jabba can do as the R/R results of superchip are not that good at least on paper bhp whereas Jabba reckon on 225-235 with the standard exhaust. Do you have the Jabba torque curves for yours as me thinks it could be more high end power delivery and less torque and mine is pretty torquey low down.

Am trying to contact Jon to see what he thinks as he has similar set up, but word has it he is going for the IHI??

Chris

I do have a plot but you have to remember mine is the AGU engine (throttle cable 150bhp) and only comes out at 203bhp remapped. Also I still have a stock exhaust. TaviaRS is your man as you say - I did have a quick spin in his on Sunday and while it felt quicker than mine (obviously) it wasn't that much quicker. It overran a little coming off the throttle. Does yours do that?

Then for comparison you should drive Des's (which I haven't) - which I understand is exactly what you would end up with.

My plot is on Manny's gallery here

Nick,

Seems I should talk to Des if he has the full Milltek as well as Jon is going IHI. Can you PM me his contact details?

Chris

What are you waiting for Denis , just think with a Jabba chip you would be the fastest 4X4 in Tesco's car park :D

Isn't that all most 4x4s are used for? Oh and the school run, but I'm not going near that one.... :D

My torque curve (from Saturday) is on page 1 of this if you are interested. Remember that this is with standard everything, including unleaded fuel, and has peaked at a fair bit more in the past.

I would if I had em Chris - I'm sure he'll be listening tho...

Des (delcac) and Jon (taviars) both have simillar spec cars, ie. miltek blah blah. Jon has a superchip and Des has a Jabba remap, on our blast out on sunday Jon's with the superchip was fast but as speed picks up then the jabba's improved power curve meant that we seemed much faster and gained at a fair rate of knots, were it not for a people carrier in the outside lane would have gone sailing by. I think the big difference is that superchip is a generic chip for the RS whereas the Jabba chip is custom built to your engine as no two engines are the same.

Ah, his may go faster, but mine will stop quicker :D

Remeber children, power is nothing without control :D

Just like to add manny that the map i have is tailered to my spec (NO COMMENT ON THIS) therefore the power comes in just when "I" want it as you witnessed, IMHO both cars have a simular BHP/top end give or take a few. The big but is Jon's can stop, handle and put the power down better with those P Zero's as you also witnessed.

Des

You also forgot to mention that I'm a better driver :p

Err.

You see Manny this is what happens when you get chipped, first you're mind goes then you get a false belief strongly held in spite of invalidating evidence, especially as a symptom of mental illness.

Be warned. ;)

Well, I did add smileys :D

You ignoring the eurovision thread? ;)

The euro thread?
