Vrs Carpets

Featured Replies

Can anybody recommend any treatments that I can apply to the white carpets in my new vRS ? I'm picking it up on Friday and will be on muddy construction sites from Monday onwards - am just a bit paranoid that they will get filthy pretty quickly :(

I use 1001 carpet cleaner to keep mine clean , but i dont know of anything you can put on beforehand to help , maybe someone else does? (maybe scotchguard? or something similar) It doesnt take much to get the carpets dirty , is there nowhere you could park that is 'clean' and change into another pair of shoes to drive , keeping the muddy ones in the boot?

Good Luck with the car

Halfords sell a Teflon based protection kit in a spray pump, it comes boxed with a foam cleaner aswell, works for carpets, the silver part of the seats & the door trims.

(Made by Simoniz I think)

I have used it & seems to work well.

Small spot stains can be removed with Baby Wipes

It sounds like a pair of big rubber mats might save some grief for now as well ?

Funnily enough, i cleaned mine yesterday...

I found an old bottle of "Astonish" carpet cleaner i got from QVC years ago, poured some into the trusty "Little Green Clean Machine" and went to work...

The muck that came out was unbelievable, and the carpets look better than when i picked the car up!!

Think I'll try out that Teflon stuff from Halfords.

Rubber mats could be a good plan too !

Thought about changing my shoes as soon as I have parked but unfortunately it's muddy as soon as I step out of the car - plus I'm a lazy git who won't change his shoes to nip out for a sandwich or a packet of fags ! :)

Thanks for all the replies though.

To save the 'prop hump' getting dirty and worn in my taxis, I cut an old mat lengthways. Loossen the centre console tuck under and retighten. Then tuck under existing mats. Result- rubber from door to door.

rubber from door to door.

soundz like a dutch pron movie title??:D

Rubber van deur tot deur

Now, that sounds like a Dutch p0rn movie... :(

BTW, the concept of door-to-door rubber implies that you'd rather not have that interior, doesn't it?

Mattijs,

hmmm but its easy to clean any er spills ...ahem :) :)
