Aerial replacement on a VRS?

Featured Replies

The wife's aerial broke a while back due to using a roof box and opening the hatch.

Can anyone tell me whether you can replace just the aerial section or if it has to be the whole unit? If the whole unit, am I to assume that you need to drop the roof lining?

Cheers,

Jez

Aerial unscrews, then pull hard and it comes off the base. Very tight fit mind, so if not much to grab onto, molegrips on what's left.

Thanks - are you talking about the whole unit as the aerial section unscrews to fold down, but doesn't seem to come off?

the 'whip' unscrews, then with alot of force it pulls out. the main unit stays on the roof though.

The mast is detachable, With a degree of force (Anti theft)!

The base remains fixed to the roof!

A new mast should be about £4.50ish

That's fantastic - thanks guys! Didn't want to force it just in case it broke.

Some kind idiot removed my aerial overnight and damaged threads ripping it out.!! Total new unit £45.00 incl.VAT So just be forceful but kind to avoid thread damage to base unit. Good-luck.
