how much petrol...

Featured Replies

...does the vRS tank hold when brimmed?

drove a little too far (for my liking) after the low fuel light popped on before i reached a petrol station. it took 53litres to fill it to the brim - biggest fill for me so far

i guess the capacity is either 55 or more likely 60l?

The Octy has a nominal 55L tank - I assume the vRS is no different.

How many miles did the trip computer say you had left?

the vRS also has a 55 litre tank

So I'm doing quite nicely with my 1,8 with 135 m on the trip meter and just about ⅛ of a tank used. :)

The last 1/4 disappears remarkably quickly even on my diesel.

i'm sure its been covered hundreds of times but as a rough stab, how many miles does the TSI do too a tank - I;m guessing full to red light, approx £50 and 300 miles??? is that about right?

Either you're driving DOWN lots of hills and switching the engine off or you've used a tadge more.:wait:

:nerd: 1/8 of 55L would be approx 6.88L = approx 1.52 Gallons.

135 miles on approx 1.52 Gallons = approx 88.76 mpg :nerd:

:p

i bet when you fill the guage goes 'above maximum' for want of a better term, almost like it is '9/8s' full, so when it is showing 7/8s full you have used neare 1/4 of the tank, meaning what, nearer 45 mpg :) /geek

My light comes on with about 60 miles left indicated on maxidot

I must admit I filled it right to the brim/lip of the filler, so like arbs said I've probably got 9/8ths full showing. I do know that it's been returning around the 40-45mpg on the run to work, seriously impressed for a petrol!

that is bloody good! who needs the black pump ;)

Just need a light foot.

It'll need to be even lighter in a couple of days time when petrol goes up AGAIN! :swear:
