I cannot fold down one of my rear seats, the mechanism seems to have stopped working does anyone know how to fix this?

Possibly someone has unscrewed the seat back rubber stops too far to fix a rear seat rattle. All you can really try, is pull the seat back towards you from the boot end, and try to release it. If the catch release has broken, it's a pry bar job.
