Octavia 4x4 Diesel

Featured Replies

Just spoken to someone who ought to know !! And the Octy Diesel 4x4 TWO LITRE !!!! will be in the UK Showrooms in March/April 2005.

Initially it will only be the Estate but the introduction of a Hatch is currently being discused.

Trim levels will be the same as the rest of the range & the leather option will be available on at least the Elegance (this includes heated seats).

There is still no intention to replace the L&K but a higher spec model hasnt been ruled out

All I can add is YIPPPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE !!!!!!!

Me too...looks like I'm going to be doing 20+k a year from now on.

Originally "4x4" was going to be a model in itself, being avail as all specs will be interesting....

...so do we go for base spec and spend the money on tuning, or high spec and waft along in leather etc?

It's a pity this only cropped up today as the MD of Skoda UK was out on the raz with me, CJ, Liam, Vikki and Tim last night.

His best comment was when he said Skoda owners do tend to give their cars a hard time :D

So does this mean that the earlier announcement on the 4x4 being a separate trim level and only available as a 1.9 TDI or 2.0 FSI Estate is bolleaux?

And if we are going to have two diesels, how about adding another petrol engine?

The 200hp 2.0T FSI preferably...

Think somebody may have got their wires crossed.

105PD and 2.0FSi for 4x4 Estate only.

Looking at the order codes it looks like it will have a trim and equipment level all of its own. (ie not Ambiente or Elegance but a specific 4x4 trim and equipment level)

The person I spoke to is based in Milton Keynes & works for a well known car company if you get my drift so I would guess they have a fair idea of what they will be selling but agree theres always a chance that they got their wires crossed.

They definately said 2 litre Diesel which the 105 isnt

Heres just hoping they are right, otherwise its the Passat 4motion 130PD

Autocar this week is suggesting that the 2.0T FSI will find its way into the next Octy vRS.

Pity that, as I was holding onto the rumour that the narrow angle 3.2 V6 would be the power train of choice.

I have to admit that if the vRS gets the 2.0t FSI then the pull of a sexy 3 dor MK5 GTI is very much stronger than the Octy, not matter what the saving.

Unless they make the Octy truly good looking!

And yes, this post does mean I fancy changing my Furby for an Octy. In fact i tried an old model Octy when Skoda released those awseome run out prices. Really like the car, but did not see enough of a differnece to spend the money on changing. Biggest impression was that it was a higher quality inside. TBH I didnt think it felt all that much faster ;)

Or if you want to spend more for less space an A4 Avant ;)

W8 Passat Estates are cracking value used and you get lots of BP points with it.

2.0 tdi really needs 4wd. It'll be a shame if they don't make one.
