For some reason the lock/unlock button on the drivers side armrest works when it wants to, sometimes it will work with the key in the ignition, sometimes without, sometimes not at all.

Whats my best bet in getting it fixed?

Hopefully just a new button required (well switch under the button) Might be control module in drivers door though.

So it should work at any time? with or without the key in the ignition?

Should work whenever I think. Although if deadlocks are enabled I doubt it will for security (i.e if you locked it and smashed a window).
