Heater fan switch

Featured Replies

Hi all

My heater fan now only works in position 4, ie full speed

Do octavias have a resister block somwhere like VW's of old? or is it just a faulty switch?

Thanks Ady

Yes, there is a resistor arrangement screwed with three screws to the bottom of the fan motor assembly, accessed after removing the glove box.

Yes they have a resistor pack tucked into the heater assembly.

Thanks, is it easy to get to? just remove glovebox, or the lower half of dashboard?

Thanks again Ady

Just remove the Glovebox and you will see them.

I have a 2002 Octavia L&K and last time I remove my glovebox, I think they have a red conector or the female conector is red. Maybe in your is diferent color. Removing the glove box is a piece of cake!

From memory you have to remove the central console to get to one of the glovebox screws.

On the 2002 Octavia you dont need to remove the Central Console in order to remove the Glove box.

As soon as you open the glovebox door you will see 3 torx screw on top and there are 2 under the glove box.

Check these pics and you will see were are the torx screws.

When you pull out the glove box, you need to disconect the wire that give power to the internal light inside the glove box.

Check these pics.
