Workmate test driven Rainworths 230bhp Furby vRS

Featured Replies

I finaly got my work mate to go for a test drive in the Fabia vRS, he currently has a Focus ST170 and is looking to change.

He took out Rainworths standard demonstrator and said he was very impressed with the car. He then went out in the Rainworths 230bhp modified vRS, he said the low down torque was not much different but the Revo map kept the power coming where it tails off at higher rpm on the standard car.

The dealer wouldn't let him try the NOS!

He says the figures offered aren't bad but he is still negotiating.

He also says that if McRae signs up for next year he will definately get one, he's still worried a little about the Skoda stigma but reckons the vRS's street cred will increase ten fold if McRae drives one.

Cheers

I like the fact the car wears a Skoda badge... even more fun..

Lee, do you know what Rainworth have done to get to 230bhp other than the Revo remap?

Have to say, hard to resist such a fine motor :D

180bhp Revo re-map and 50bhp NOS kit.

They even discussed with him what engine, suspension, brakes and styling mods where available.

Pretty unusual for a dealer I would have thought.

Do you know if Rainworths have said whether Skoda UK will still honour the remainder of the warranty, with the vehicle being modified. Maybe maybe Rainworths putting a 3rd party warranty on the vehicle?

I just wonder how a buyer would be fixed if say the NOS system causes problems.

Not sure about NOS but Rainworth will honour the Warranty as long as you have the re-map done through themselves.

Not sure whether this is Rainworths warranty, a third party warranty or the fact that they just don't tell Skoda it's modded.
