They hit me, Their Insurance paid..

Featured Replies

They rear ended me,

Their Insurance paid the 3rd party claims company my Insurance company passed it on to.

When renewing would I have to say I've made a claim... or because my insurance didn't even deal with it (They passed it straight onto Angel Cover and Help Hire) does that mean that I've technically not claimed, but the lady that hit me claimed for both cars?

I know I'm not with you guys, but this seemed like the place to ask.

Thanks

Rob.

The question is usually, have you been involved in any accidents or claims. You must declare it as a non fault accident, and it shouldnt really make much, if any difference but you must declare it. Technically you have claimed, albeit from someone elses policy.

yes you need to tell them, any accident regardless if you claim or not have to be. My rear ender that was not my fault hasn't effected my policy come re-newal.

Thanks Guys... :)

^^^What they said

In the event of anpther accident/claim your policy could be voided for failing to declare.

It's no biggie and nothing really to worry over.

I have had to put down a claim where my Felicia got sideswiped by a truck, it was their policy that paid for repairs.

+1 despite what babs says

The motor insurance DB will flag you up to any new insurer. I've been picked up this way by honestly forgetting about a screen replacement (declared the others though), and at quote time they told me date, insurer, repairer and all the other details I'd forgotten about from MID!

Do you actually have to tell them about screen repairs??!

Not usually. But then most are now moving away from offering free repairs, and increasing the excess on glass replacement.
